In the surroundings you will find hiking trails, cycle paths and winter resorts, and those who want to slow down can relax by the fireplace, with a book or simply enjoying the green views.
The cottage, built in the 70s of the 19th century, is 160 years old and lies in the hamlet of Blansko, now part of Jablonec nad Jizerou, along the road from Poniklá to Harrachov. It has small windows, low ceilings and low doors, typical of buildings from that period. A family originally lived here with a loom and a workbench for making skis. In 1930, the cottage was extended with a two-storey barn. It was replaced by a new barn in 2000, reusing the original beams and timber.
Inside the cottage and the common room, historical items are displayed, such as furniture, dishes, porcelain, tools and skis. Some originate directly from this cottage, others from a cottage in Česká Skalice, where the other great-grandmother lived.
